Ms. Handcock Wrestling? And more... - Ms. Hancock will fight in her first match ever against Tammy Stych at WCW Monday Nitro. -The reason that Mene Gean was replaced by the new interview girl on Nitro is due to the fact that he has personal problems. WCW has given him time off to sort out whatever is wrong in his life. News on Halloween Havoc. Sid should be returning at The Great American Bash, however may not tag with Awesome until sometime after. -Although still 5 months away, WCW is looking to Halloween Havoc to be their biggest event ever. Bobby, "The Brain" Hennan recently stated, Halloween Havoc in October will have an amazing element to it. I've been sworn to secrecy on this-and without the righ amount of money, I wont talk. Trust me, it's going to shock the wrestling world. More then that, it's going to shock the main stream media world. Heenan's comments point to this event containing something that will put the WCW over the WWF. -The Cat and The Wall have been getting into some backstage heat with each other. The two have gotten in each others face many times, and are being delt with to avoid a bigger problem. WCW will be in London for a Nitro on Nov. 10. Goldeberg is Back!!!! - Goldberg is returning to WCW television on Monday, but probably won't wrestle until the Great American Bash in July. His meetings with WCW this week apparently went well and Goldberg feels comfortable with what WCW has planned for him. In fact, he is already being advertised. PWTorch.com reader Adam Kunkel of Statesboro, Ga. writes: "Hey, I was looking for tickets to the June 5 Nitro at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta on ticketmaster.com today. I went to select the seating and each section says the price and then in caps "GOLDBERG, STING, DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE, BUFF BAGWELL, AND MORE". So it appears they are advertising Goldberg to be there." News on Ric Flair, Konnan and Juvi injured? -Konnan suffered a possible torn tricep. He tried to have an MRI done, but apparently his arm was too swollen to be tested. Juventud Guererra reaggravated his ribs and cannot take bumps for a week or two. It happened during a spot where Major Stash (Van Hammer) threw Juvi into Konnan. Konnan and Juvi are scheduled to be at Nitro. -Ric Flair is scheduled to be at both Nitro and Thunder next week. News on Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner -Nitro this week is expected to be huge! There will be a ton of suprises, and even some new faces. Expect Steiner and new found friend Nash to have a HUGE role. Who's the boss? In case you haven't heard, Eric Bischoff has been removed from the office of the President of WCW (behind the scenes, not the whole Flair/Sting who's the boss deal). The new people in charge are Executive Vice President Bill Busch and Dr. Harvery Schiller. Bischoff has been relocated to a totally different part of Turner/Time-Warner. He has nothing to do with WCW anymore. Bumps and Bruises at Fall Brawl Vampiro suffered a broken nose, concussion, and has a loose front tooth thanks to Kidman's knee landing on his face when he did the Shooting Star Press. Shane Douglas suffered what appeared to be a partial tear of his bicep, and a sore shoulder. Rey Mysterio Jr. came out of his match with a knee injury, but it's not known how serious (he wrestled last Monday so it must not have been very serious) Goldberg, Goldberg, zzzzzzz..... With Bischoff gone, the new people in charge are planning some changes. Look for the following to happen: 1) Instead of Hulk Hogan, Bill Goldberg will be WCW's number 1 superstar as he is also the most popular right now. 2) Randy Savage may be fired soon 3) Story lines for the next few months will be booked in the next few weeks. When this is done, only the wrestlers who are booked for the event will be invited to that event. In the past, the entire roster would be at every event and WCW would use only half of them. 4) Demon, the character played by Bryan Adams will be dropped (with a flawless record no less) of course, he hasn't wrestled at all. I've heard of buried at sea, but this is going a bit far... Brian Hildebrand, otherwise known as referee Mark Curtis, requested before he died of cancer that his cremated ashes were to be mixed with some pyro to be blown all over an arena some Monday Nitro when the Revolution is introduced. In other words, Mark Curtis was cremated and, if WCW agrees to, his ashes will be shot in the air with the fireworks used when the Revolution come out. Outsiders coming in The Outsiders, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, are supposed to be back within a month. Apparently they have a cool angle set up for them, that angle, however, is still unknown to anybody. Side note: Both men are going through divorces right now. Chris Benoit goes world wide Chris Benoit just launched his website. The address is http://www.chrisbenoit.com/ Insane Clown Posse news... Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J, the Insane Clown Posse have never signed a deal with WCW. They are making $5,000 for each appearance they make. Miss Elizabeth.... Miss Elizabeth was backstage at Nitro last week and has said that she will be returning soon and will be once again aligned with Lex Luger.

Rick Rude is dead Richard Rood, better known as Ravishing Rick Rude, died on April 20th. His daughter found him unconcious in his home and phoned the paramedics who brought him to the hospital where he died. An autopsy was done, but the results not immediately released. Authorities say his death is "still under investigation". Rey injured again... Rey Mysterio Jr. injured his wrist in the four corners cruiserweight match on Nitro. No word whether or not this will keep him out of action at all. Someone's trying to do us a favor Mike Tenay was hit by a car last weekend and was rushed to the hospital for whiplash. He is doing fine now though. (Someone must be getting fed up with the poor commentating by WCW).

Alex is back For those of you who were wondering who that freaky lookin guy that was sitting in the front row during the four corners cruiserweight match on Nitro was... That was Das Wunderkid himself, Alex Wright. No news on what his angle is yet. Wrath update Wrath has a torn ACL and will have surgery on April 29th. He should be out of action for about 4 months. Bret Hart back in the WWF? Apparently Bret Hart was backstage at a WWF house show in Calgary on April 17th. He actually shook hands with Earl Hebner (the referee for the controversial match between Hart and Shawn Michaels). Hart has said that returning to the WWF isn't out of the question. Hey, Bobbing Head Doll guy! WCW will soon be releasing some bobbing head collectable dolls before the end of May. The first set will be: Diamond Dallas Page, Goldberg, Hollywood Hogan, and Sting. The second set will be: Ric Flair, Kevin Nash, and Lex Luger.

April 20th, 1999

Hollywood's Hurtin Hollywood Hulk Hogan underwent knee surgery today April 20th. He will be out for approximately 8 weeks Wrath Hurtin Too Wrath and Hugh Morris both injured their knees on April 15th. It appears at first that Wrath's injury is much more serious, as he could hardly stand up towards the end of their match.
Scott Hall's future Scott Hall is expected to return in a month or so. He will only be working 5 days a month, those being Monday's and Pay Per Views. This is probably a compromise set up with his wife Dana, who wanted him to quit altogether. Mr. Fuji doesn't like video games Well, maybe he does, but he doesn't like the fact that his namesake is in WCW vs. NWO. So he is sueing the maker of the game THQ. Glacier returns Glacier will be returning soon with a new gimmick. That gimmick is a whistle blowing, crazed high school football coach, who doesn't care for anyone. Yippee!
Goldberg, a bat, and a little tiny ball Goldberg apparently will be attending a batting practice session with the St. Louis Cardinals and Mark McGwire soon. Chastity's job on the line Apparently Chastity's job is on the line because of a recent porn movie she made.
No Chants for Goldberg In Toronto, there were no chants for Goldberg. The chants you heard if you watched it on tv, were played over the speaker system. Scott Hall, the groom Scott Hall remarried his ex-wife Dana on March 27th.
Steiner goes to jail Scott Steiner will have to spend 10 days in jail. He was arrested on April 21, 1998. He threatened a DOT worker and lightly hit him twice with his truck. He was fined $25,000 and order to serve 10 days in jail. That along with seven years probation and 200 hours of community service.
Renegade Rick Wilson, the wrestler known as Renegade, committed suicide on February 23, 1999. He was found in his home with a gunshot to his head. Scott Hall Scott Hall apparently suffered a foot injury after Superbrawl. After a celebration party, he apparently got his foot run over. That's the explanation for his absence. Sting Apparently one of the reasons that Sting has been missing is the he is now a born-again Christian and is spending more time with his wife. He may start bringing his wife on road trips. Jimmy Hart Rumors have it that Hart may be leaving for the WWF. What role he would assume is yet unknown. He is an assisstant talent coordinator, manager, and WCW music orchestrator (entrance themes) for WCW.
Curt Hennig Hennig's contract is up sometime in the summer. He might go to the WWF, but some say that most likely he will stay with WCW. Bret Hart Hart is injured again. He might not be able to wrestle at Uncensored, so WCW will likely just keep him off the card. Bill Goldberg New Japan Pro Wrestling (an affiliation of WCW) has sent Goldberg a contract to wrestle on April 10, 1999 for the IWGP title. They are looking for a challenger since the one they had got injured. Toughman Title WCW will be adding a Toughman Title (similar to the WWF's Hardcore Title). There will possibly have a battle royal for the belt at the Uncensored Pay Per View. Billy Kidman Apparently, Kidman is working without a contract. WCW must be pretty confident that he will resign, since he continues to hold the cruiserweight title.
